Specialized Trauma Therapy
Many women I work with are thoughtful, insightful, and capable, yet struggle to identify their feelings, needs, or internal cues. They may sense that something feels off but cannot quite name it, so they continue adapting, coping, and carrying on while parts of themselves remain unseen, unheard, or difficult to access.
I offer both ongoing psychotherapy and specialized adjunctive somatic and expressive (art-based) therapy. Because not every experience is easily expressed in words, sessions can include body awareness, creative expression, and other experiential approaches alongside conversation.
Most clients come for regular, long-term therapy. Others work with me alongside an existing therapist, focusing on trauma processing, grief and bereavement, nervous system regulation, healing childhood wounds, or reconnecting with themselves through body-based and expressive (art-based) therapy.
For clients already working with a primary therapist, I offer adjunctive sessions focused on trauma processing, body awareness, emotional regulation, or creative expression.
Rather than viewing symptoms as problems to eliminate, we approach them with curiosity, recognizing them as meaningful adaptations that can guide us toward deeper understanding and healing. Together, we explore how trauma, attachment wounds, and chronic stress may show up in the body, relationships, and present-day experience, while developing greater awareness, choice, and connection with yourself.

Somatic Therapy
Trauma isn't experienced only through thoughts and memories. It can also show up in the body through tension, bracing, restlessness, numbness, shutdown, or feeling overwhelmed. Somatic therapy gives us another way to notice and work with these experiences as they arise in the present.
I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-based approach to trauma that helps address how childhood experiences, attachment wounds, and chronic stress are held in the nervous system. By gently incorporating the wisdom of the body into the therapeutic process, we can explore patterns as they show up through sensations, movement, emotions, and automatic responses.
This work may be especially helpful if you feel:
find yourself repeating patterns that are difficult to change
overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down
disconnected from your body or sense of self
Sessions may include:
gentle awareness of body sensations and movement
mindfulness and nervous system regulation
exploring patterns that arise in the present moment
This approach is collaborative and thoughtfully paced, creating space to notice what is happening in the present and explore what feels supportive and useful to you.

Art Therapy
Art therapy offers a variety of nonverbal, expressive, and sensory languages because not every experience can be communicated through words. Working with art materials can help explore emotions, identity, and past experiences in ways that engage both reflection and lived experience.
This can be especially helpful if you:
have trouble putting your experience into words
find that words don't always capture what you're experiencing
want a different way to process and understand what you're going through
Different art materials offer different ways of communicating. Drawing, paint, collage, clay, and other materials can help express emotions, experiences, and parts of ourselves that may not yet have words.
No artistic skill or experience is needed. The focus is on authentic expression and the creative process, not the final product.
Sessions may include:
drawing, painting, collage, clay, and mixed media
incorporating natural materials (such as leaves, stones, and found objects) when working in or inspired by nature
guided prompts connected to your goals
open-ended, exploratory art-making
optional writing or reflection
The level of structure is flexible and tailored to your needs, offering both gentle guidance and space for discovery. Outdoor, nature-based sessions are available in Maryland when they support your treatment goals.

Sensory Sensitivity & Nervous System Therapy
You may be highly capable, deeply thoughtful, and successful on the outside—yet privately feel overwhelmed, tense, exhausted, or like you are working much harder than others just to get through everyday life.
You may relate if you:
feel sensory overwhelm in environments others seem to tolerate easily
spend a lot of energy masking, overthinking, or trying to “get it right”
notice chronic tension, bracing, shutdown, or difficulty relaxing
are highly aware of others, yet struggle to identify your own feelings, needs, or internal cues
feel capable on the outside while privately feeling depleted, different, or out of sync
Many clients with this presentation have spent years being described as high functioning, highly sensitive, perfectionistic, anxious, or “in their heads.” Some identify as neurodivergent. Others simply recognize that some of what they experience is difficult to understand or put into words.
Using somatic therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, art therapy, and nervous system-based treatment, we work to strengthen interoceptive awareness, self-understanding, nervous system regulation, and more authentic ways of relating to yourself and others. Rather than viewing these patterns as problems to eliminate, we approach them with curiosity—exploring what they may be communicating and developing greater awareness and choice in how you respond to yourself, others, and your environment.
