Online trauma therapy for women throughout New York who want to heal from past experiences and connect more deeply with themselves, their needs, and what matters to them.
Trauma Therapy for Women in New York
Trauma can shape how you learn to move through the world
You may be thoughtful, capable, and highly self-aware, yet still have a hard time knowing what you feel or need.
Maybe you learned early to adapt to other people, stay alert to changes around you, keep the peace, or push through difficult experiences. These ways of coping can become so familiar that it is hard to know where they end and you begin.
Trauma therapy can offer a place to slow down and become more curious about these patterns—not simply to understand why they developed, but to begin experiencing something different.
I work with women throughout New York who are healing from childhood trauma, relational and attachment wounds, sexual trauma, emotionally neglectful or unpredictable environments, and other experiences that have made it difficult to feel safe being fully themselves.
Somatic and Art Therapy for Trauma
Not every experience is easily reached through words.
Somatic therapy brings attention to the ways experiences are held and expressed through patterns of sensation, movement, emotion, and nervous-system response. This work is collaborative and paced with attention to what feels manageable rather than pushing toward intense emotional experiences.
Art therapy offers another way of exploring experiences that may feel difficult to explain or organize verbally. You do not need to consider yourself creative or have any art experience. Sometimes an image, color, material, or creative process can help make something visible that has been difficult to name.
Art-making is always an invitation, never a requirement.
Complex and Developmental Trauma
Trauma is not always one identifiable event.
For some women, the effects developed gradually through relationships and environments in which their emotional needs were overlooked, their perceptions were questioned, or staying connected required adapting themselves around other people.
You may have become exceptionally good at functioning while remaining disconnected from parts of your own experience.
Therapy can become a place to notice those adaptations with curiosity and gradually develop more room for your own feelings, boundaries, desires, creativity, relationships, and sense of self.
Online Trauma Therapy Throughout New York
I am a New York Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) and provide individual psychotherapy through secure telehealth to adults located throughout New York State, including New York City.
Most clients work with me in ongoing weekly therapy. I also offer specialized adjunctive somatic and expressive therapy for people who already have a primary therapist and want additional support working experientially with trauma.
Sessions are private pay and are available in 60- and 90-minute formats.
Is this the kind of therapy you're looking for?
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on.
You may simply know that the ways you have learned to cope no longer feel like enough—or that you want a life that feels more connected to who you actually are. Therapy is a process that develops over time. Early work often involves building trust and safety, understanding the patterns that have helped you survive, and discovering what feels possible to approach. As the relationship develops, the work can deepen and change.
