Creative and emotional support during and after serious illness, surgery, hospitalization, and medical treatment.

Medical experiences can affect children in many ways, even after treatment has ended.

Art therapy offers a space to express feelings, make sense of experiences, and explore what they've been through using creativity, play, and art materials. Whether a child is currently receiving care or adjusting to life afterward, this work supports emotional well-being, developmental needs, and opportunities for healing and repair when medical experiences have disrupted a child's sense of safety, trust, or autonomy.

Anger, withdrawal, and behavioral challenges can be meaningful expressions of needs that children haven't yet been able to communicate. Experiences that were too overwhelming to process at the time may need space to be seen, heard, understood, and supported. Through art therapy and a trusting therapeutic relationship, children can begin to explore and make sense of these experiences at their own pace. Bridget brings more than 20 years of experience supporting children and families facing serious medical challenges.
